Hi, I’m Ashley Quist
I am a muralist and designer inspired by street art, folklore, and typography. I primarily work in acrylics to fuse vibrant palettes with graphic backdrops, creating narratives from a single image. In my practice, I create visual packages for mission driven public art initiatives-particularly those addressing mental health awareness and youth access to the arts.
Art has been a source of relief during my own struggles with mental health and trauma. This fuels me to advocate for youth to have access to art as a means of healing and self-discovery. As an Indigenous artist, I am also dedicated to amplifying American Indian voices and histories too often marginalized.
I have collaborated with the Boise City Department of Arts and History, Nevada Museum of Art, CBH Homes, the Idaho Lottery, and the City of Mountain Home. I create murals that transform the air of a space and spark lasting connection—turning my clients visions into visual alchemy-transforming flat walls into enigmatic experiences that linger in memory

I paint murals because human stories deserve to be shared through beauty and meaning.

MY PROCESS
-
UNDERSTANDING MY AUDIENCE
My background in mental health services has helped me become a better artist and designer. When I create a design, I design for the business, the people, and seek to understand its audience.

-
IDEATION & COLLABORATION
I appreciate taking the time to identify what it is my clients are looking to communicate. Whether clients already have an idea of what they want or don’t know where to start, we can elevate their message together.
The more involved a client is in this stage of the project, the more they are connected to the end product. First payment is received at this stage in the process.

-
CONCEPT & SKETCH
After we have agreed on the concept, I create a digital mockup of your idea. Once the mockup is complete, I will lay the digital image over your wall space to show what it will look like. This helps us envision how the mural will elevate your space. If we need to adjust, it is best to do it at this stage.

-
PAINTING & MORE
Every artist has their painting process, cadence and work hours. Depending on where your mural will be painted, I adjust my hours accordingly. If I’m painting at a business, I work during off-peak hours or when closed. At homes, I paint when there is the least amount of distraction for everyone’s convenience.

-
FINAL WALK THROUGH
I make sure my murals leave you feeling seen and excited to share your new space. If it doesn’t feel right, we can tailor the end result until you feel satisfied. I care about you LOVING your mural.

-
SEALING THE DEAL
After the mural is signed off, I seal the mural so that it is UV protected and waterproof. Once final payment is received, we’ll take some photos and share!
